BAM Studios recently finished an upgrade to their Studio C audio suite with a purchase of Avid-Digidesign’s ICON D-Command ES mixing console. This is BAM’s third D-Command install and is setup identically to the consoles in the other two audio suites. The control room has been up and running for a few weeks now and BAM’s engineers are very happy about the sound of the room and compatibility between all three suites. BAM mixer Dave Leffel adds, “it’s nice to be able to work on projects in any room and have the same setup and feel”. The upgrade also adds 5.1 surround sound monitoring to Studio C utilizing the BAM endorsed Genelec speaker system. “I’ve loved the Genelec brand since the hand-made speakers were first introduced in the US back in the 80′s.” says owner Brian Reed. New Studio C photos will be coming soon!

Morning Show anchor Hosea Sanders interviewed Dave about his career as an engineer and voiceover actor, then the film crew captured the entire voice coaching and recording process with Jim and Dave while working on a variety of commercial spots. The program was videotaped throughout BAM’s facility but focused in Studio B control room and VO booth. ABC’s “Dream job” segment will air the week of May 7th on The Morning Show. Specific date and time to be determined.
